Since 20 years, Dr May is working in the field of telecommunication and more recently in data science. He received his PhD from INRIA in Sophia Antipolis, France. but was also technical staff member of Lucent Bell-Labs Research, Holmdel, USA and worked fr SPRINT in the Sprintlabs, in Burlingame, USA
In 2000, he co-founded a start-up company in France in the field of Content Networking. After selling the company end of 2003, I went back to academia where I joined the Swiss Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich) as a lecturer and senior research associate. After his time at ETH Zurich, he joined the Technicolor Research Lab in Paris where he evolved to the Director of Technology Strategy and also started a lab on Data Processing in Rennes Brittany.
Dr. May then joined SCHUNK as the head of cyber-physical system where he is responsible for the digital transformation of the company and the development of new digital services. The first results have already been shown at the Hannover trade show in 2017 under the name of Smart Gripping.
